Congratulations to Julie Christie who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama for “Away From Her” (directed by the extremely talented Sarah Polley) and to Marion Cotillard who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical for “La Vie En Rose”. Not only both were very well deserved awards, but Sarah Polley Network and Magnifique Marion Cotillard are family sites of Eva Green Web!

Congratulations!!! I have got to watch “La Vie En Rose”, I liked Marion Cotillard in “A Good Year” (blame it on the sappy romantic in me)…oh, well, looks like some of the early fears on TGC not making enough were unfounded…it’s having a second showing here in the Phils…it had to give way for the Film Festival entries around Christmastime…but now, it’s back on…

Golden Compass Passes $300M Worldwide
Source: New Line Cinema January 15, 2008
New Line Cinema’s The Golden Compass, starring Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, crossed the $300 million mark at the worldwide box office and now has a cumulative gross of more than $315 million. The film has earned more than $67 million in the United States since its Dec. 7 opening.
The fantasy epic has performed strongly in various foreign territories — including the United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea and Australia — where this genre continues to be popular. On March 1, The Golden Compass will open in its last major territory — Japan.
“‘The Golden Compass’ has immense global appeal,” said Rolf Mittweg, President and Chief Operating Officer of Worldwide Distribution and Marketing at New Line Cinema. “The box office revenue has been nothing less than astonishing overseas. With the forthcoming premiere in Japan, we can expect a significant boost to our worldwide box office.”
Based on author Philip Pullman’s bestselling and award-winning novel, The Golden Compass tells the first story in Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy. The fantasy adventure is written and directed by Chris Weitz, and features an all-star cast of Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Sam Elliott, Eva Green and Dakota Blue Richards.

A CR interview (in Russian) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kcp7W5FCRBQ#s57ql-p3XNs
Apparently, the translation goes something like, “she says sometimes she gets penetrized by Craig as a perfect and bright actor since he gets so involved into his character’s role that she feels he can love or kill her heroine in the movie, and she never knows what to expect from him. Eva Green is speaking about her role of Bond’s girlfriend. she answers the question about the difficulty of her role cuz she had to be the most beautiful woman and be kind of Bond’s shadow now and then at the same time. she adds she likes playing complicated and deep roles, not just be a glamorous bitch…then they get involved into discussing Craig’s sexuality:)” Thanks to Hannanmuslim at http://www.youtube.com

LOL!!! It looks like the interviewer is asking the questions in Russian, but Eva is answering in English (which Russian dubbed over her voice).
