Our beautiful Eva arrived at the BAFTAs!

As for my other news… Well, Montblanc and Eva announced today at a press conference that Eva is the new Montblanc Ambassadress. She’ll be supporting Montblanc cultural and educational programmes, including the Montblanc initiatives for UNICEF – known as “The Power To Write”.

EDIT: And the BAFTA ORSA went to Shia LaBeouf. “The Golden Compass” won an award for Best Visual Effects.

Mariana, is that other news to do with Eva being the new New international Montblanc Ambassador?

  2. Lola Says:

Also, I have to say, from what I’ve seen I’m REALLY depressed SO many people are wearing black at the Baftas. SO BOOORING! Even if it’s because of Heath Ledger; why isn’t everyone in black and why not wear a black armband/ribbon to show solidarity instead??!
I’m really pissed off now. 🙁

  3. George Says:

The Montblanc Ambassadress is not what I have in mind (…it’s because I use Parker). Anyway it’s good publicity I suppose, although I would like to see Eva as an environmental ambassadress (her surname suits perfectly…)
Lola: Although I am not watching the ceremony I can imagine and I think I would agree with you…

  4. Tango_down Says:

Waouh ! In France Mont Blanc sounds like very prestigious pens. Even our latest president, Chirac, had one and always showed it at the interview of July, 14th (national celebration with military parade on the Elysee avenue).
I’m sure they offered some pens to Eva 🙂

  5. May Says:

Wow she looks sooo beautiful!! Thank you so much, Mariana! 🙂 Great news btw 😀

  6. Larissa Says:

Beautiful as always! Hey I was wondering…is she invited to the Oscars this year? Do you know if she’ll be attending? I’d be glad if you could answer that.

Oh and congrats with the website cause it’s great and I deppend on it to survive lol

    :*

  7. George Says:

Waiting for the clips I must say that none of my favourites (Sam Riley and Tang Wei) got the ORSA. Tnasformers and Indiana Jones dominated the public vote…Anyway congratulations to La Beouf!

  8. spot Says:

i’m happy that Eva’s the new Montblanc Ambassadress. i think it’s a good thing that she has this opportunity to do something culturally as well as support worldwide education.

as for her recent fashion, i have to agree with Lola, it’s rather depressing and boring 🙁 she’s been wearing clothes that’s aging her. well there’s some improvement on the hair and make-up department though she hasn’t lost that signature Eva flair…..but something’s a bit off with her fashion lately 🙁 …still looking beautiful as always! 🙂

  9. christophe Says:

by the way did you know that evagree was a
green fluorescent nucleic acid dye with features that make the dye useful for several applications

  10. Clarisse Says:

Ellle est vraiment sublime, comme à son habitude !

  11. Tango_down Says:

I can’t more agree with you Georges for Eva as an environmental ambassadress, well found for her name lol 😀

I found a video on You Tube about Orange Rising Star Award jury 2008, there’s the same sequence where we can see Eva pulling face, but there are additionnal pics and interviews of her, especially at the end.
Eva looks so beautiful, great and cool. I love her.

  12. Liz Says:

amazing!! i like her dress! and i love her jewelry… the diamond earrings and the necklace.. does anyone know by which designer they are?
i think this outfit is very different from that one she wore last year… good job!
but i must say that i prefer the make-up from last year a little bit to this one… but still very beautiful!!! she cannot be anything else=);)
know having written a lot… i am still looking forward to watching some interviews on youtube or whereever!
besides, i think it is great that she supports montblanc and unicef…. of course a way of publicity but i am sure she really does want to help!!
so thnaks for the interesting news, mariana!!

  13. Tango_down Says:

    Bonjour Clarisse

Si tu parles français, hélas peu de gens te comprendront, beaucoup de nationalités sont représentés ici, et c’est tant mieux.
Si tu veux échanger avec tout le monde, il te faudra passer par Shakespeare 😉

  14. Liz Says:

tango_down: thank you for the video announcing!! it is really good! and eva is talking aout her trophy being in london AND paris=)
    have a look!!

  15. spot Says:

Liz: she’s wearing Dior (this i’m sure) and i assume her jewelries are Montblanc…..similar to The Golden Compass premiere?

Christophe: O_O that is some find! hahaha

  16. George Says:

Christophe: I bet that the inventor of this nucleic acid named it after her after watching The Dreamers. The dates fit perfectly…
Any videos with Eva from the Bafta ceremony?
spot: I think tha Montblanc jewelry will dominate now her appearences…
thanks Tango_down for the youtubian discovery

  17. Tango_down Says:

Liz : yes I understood that, but I still don’t understand what she says after “I brought my trophy when I was…”, insisting on a word which sounds like “woôard”, can someone tell me what is she talking about ?
“So I don’t know what it means” => me too, Eva 😀 If you spoke french, we could understand each other lol 😀

  18. George Says:

Take a look at this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f6z6cOxOuYM
(Sam Riley gets the most applause from the public. It’s something…)

  19. Liz Says:

oh i was expecting Dior=)… well Montblanc sounds logical… since she has just announced supporting them as their cultural ambassadress…

she wears a watch at the pressconference for montblanc… i really like it.. does anybody know if it is expensive or if somebody “normal” can buy it to??=)

  20. Lola Says:

I still can’t believe Shia LaBeouf won (or however the hell you spell it)! 🙁
I wished Atonement had picked at least a couple more technical awards, but it won ‘the big one’, so that’s something I guess.

  21. Clarisse Says:

Tango_down : Je viens seulement donner mon avis, je sais que pas mal de fans ainsi que Mariana me comprennent, c’est l’essentiel pour moi 🙂

  22. Liz Says:

    tango_down:
doesn’t she say that her trophy has broken into two halves??during the awards night
and one part is in london and the other in paris.. or do i get that wrong?? maybe a native speaker can help here??=)

  23. Tango_down Says:

Liz : yes you’re right ! I heard the word “brought” which was in fact “broke”, and you’re right she has one half at London and the other at Paris. She’s very funny lol 😀
But I still don’t understand when she says “woard”, and pronounces it with insistence. What does she say ?
Yes please someone help us, putting there what she says, as would say George, where is the english/american Tango_down ? 😀

  24. George Says:

Tango_down: Well, call of duty. If you meant the video with the ORSA jury the closest to “woard” phrases I recognized was when Eva described how she felt when she was announced as winner and she says “overwhelmed” (=surprised, touched) and the other one when she said when the prize was broken “at the awards actually”.
Now that I saw it again I agree more with you: she is very very sweet in natural life. I love her too!

  25. Tango_down Says:

George : I also understood the word “award”, but why does she says then “So, I don’t know what it means” ? That’s why I thought it was another strange word, maybe a very british one, that would explain why she exaggerates the pronounciation.

Well, I may think about something not very interesting.

  26. George Says:

Tango_down: With the “So, I don’t know what it means” Eva refers to the fact that the prize was broken. Oddly, in many cultures when something is broken it means good luck (except the mirrors which is seven years bad luck…)

  27. Liz Says:

geroge and tango_down: thanks for language help=)… i agree with you she is so sweet when she is talking in real life…
i would love to meet her… well actually everyone does=)
have you already seen the video which is named in one comment at the latest news, the one about e! usa caps…
have a look there.. she is verry funny.. talking about her bafta award standing in her basement, actually!!! very funny….
i love her being interviewed.. that is always very funny and she is ..well… behaving very –ehm— pleasant i would say… so down to earth but mysterious… just great!!!.. well i am getting into details now…=)

  28. Tango_down Says:

Thanks a lot George, I now understand all of it

So it’s true, you are the english Tango_down 😀

  29. Tango_down Says:

Liz : I agree with you, she looks like a simple sweet girl you can meet any day on the street, her status of international actress does not make her considering herself as a star, she always stays the same person in life.

I love the reaction of the woman when Eva answers her she put her bafta in her basement, how she feels suddenly so confused by her atypical answer that she didn’t expected, and Eva seems to think “I shouldn’t have said an answer like that”…

People are surprised and think that she is atypical because of her way of being as a typical person, Eva is a strange paradoxe 😀

  30. George Says:

Tango_down: thank you for the honor. I bet Liz will be our German Tango_down. Right Liz? (I think we need some Spanish Tango_down…). Any other offers are welcome.

  31. Monique Says:

    Tango_down: I agree with you…

Oh, did you see her entrance and her manner of speaking? It’s so different than her acceptance speech last year…she’s so much more confident now..even her walk has changed…I’m proud of you, girl!!!

By the way, look at the way she writes in one of the Montblanc pics…it’s so odd…she holds it sort of away from her body, at a weird angle…but the way she holds her pen reminds of the way I hold my pen, like embracing the pen…my grandmother told me that’s one of the most beautiful ways to hold a pen…Oh, and I noticed a neater penmanship too…

Too bad none of my favorites (Tang Wei, Sam Riley, and Ellen Paige) won…*Monique pouts*

  32. Liz Says:

george: yea.. you are actually right!! thanks for the honor… i will do my best to help in language prolems when it turns to german…
i also think we need an italian tango_down… there are many pictures in the gallery with italian interviews and stuff like that so it would be great if someone could tell us what they are about-.. i have an italian friend but he is just too busy to translate everything and, unfortunately, not that interested… but he may help us sometimes… i will ask him…

  33. Tango_down Says:

I can be the Spanish Tango_down, ya que hablo esta idioma con bastante facilidad 😉

  34. Tango_down Says:

Hey ! Not so many Tango_down, I forgot to tell you I put copyright on my nickname LOL 😀

  35. George Says:

Tango_down: Ok if you insist with the rights we will turn it to Tango_up (lol). As you surely know open source movement always find ways to proceed…

  36. George Says:

Liz: You are right, I forgot the Italinan Tango_down! Just a minute…, you said Italian friend “…not that interested”? First, it is almost impossible for an Italian male not to be interested in Eva and, second, tell him it’s a blasphemy against Bertolucci (lol)…

  37. Tango_down Says:

You’re right and I support open source, so I think I’ll retire my copyright 🙂

  38. Liz Says:

george: i will tell him, definitely!! i do not understand it at all but i think i will change his mind!!! i just have to… and i will tell him about bertolucci!!!
so we will see what happens

  39. Monique Says:

George: it would be almost impossible for any male, Italian or otherwise to not be interested in her once they’ve seen her in The Dreamers, even in Casino Royale (although I wouldn’t be a very reliable surce, I am after all, of the opposite sex) although, yes, if he were Italian, that would be an insult to Bertolucci…

Unfortunately, I can be of no help in the language department, I only know two languages: English and Filipino, and as I doubt the latter will not be of too much help in translating…
Ah, well, maybe I’ll take up elementary Mandarin next semester to translate those Chinese Casino Royale articles…

Tango_down: Maybe we could change your name to Samba, or to Waltz, or Street dance, or Swing?…but then again, it wouldn’t be you, so I rest my case…
