Merci pour l’info Clarisse 😉
April 17th, 2008 at 6:49 am
thanks for the info Mariana and Clarisse 😉
April 17th, 2008 at 9:01 am
I hope it’s the full version. Getting closer to May 2008, which means the 40th anniversary from May 68, I have the feeling that the movie will be an anniversary “hit” for many european channels. Let’s see…
April 17th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
spot : you’ve translated my words in english, except I forgot to thanks Mariana, sorry 😀
April 17th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Thank you Clarisse for the info. I looked at it for a bit. I always love to see The Dreamers, it’s truly a great film, and I love how Eva still so young.
A strange thing to hear Eva “speak” German, though!
April 17th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Thanks a lot! I’m watching it 🙂
April 17th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
It was strange, very sensual (sexual?) but great! Eva is really stunning !
April 18th, 2008 at 1:21 am
Aw, too bad I won’t be able to watch Eva “speak” German as EvaAnne said, but in keeping with the airing of The Dreamers in those channels, I think I’ll watch it again myself…
I think I just want an excuse to watch it again and again…
She does look young, you know, you can see in her film just how versatile she can be…She looks different in The Dreamers than she did in KoH, and she looks different in Casino Royale and in TGC as well…she’s very flexible when it comes to roles…she shows so many faces…that’s why I’m so excited to see her in Franklyn and in Cracks, to see what face she’ll show us next…
April 18th, 2008 at 2:18 am
Tango_down: we’re starting to sound alike 😛
Monique: don’t you just love the fact that Eva is a complete chameleon?! 😉
April 18th, 2008 at 4:48 am
I do like the film – and have it on DVD – but I found the ending quite disappointing, and it didn’t feel as strong or intense as what had gone before.
April 18th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
It’s better that I’ don’t talk about her body :-))
April 19th, 2008 at 1:03 am
spot: yep!!!
Lola: you’re right, the ending was a little weak, I was sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for something alse to happen after the last scene, but then the credits appeared (I have to laugh at myself a little for that)
but it seemed to fit in a dreamy sense that the film did not have a neat, happy ending…
April 19th, 2008 at 10:21 am
I love this film and Eva was miraculous, as usual.
April 19th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
Paolo : I hope for you that’s not the only thing you remember from this movie
Eva said that “The dreamers” remains the best movie she has made, and by seeing it again on Arte I had the same feeling. Bertolucci knew absolutely how to exploit her youth and all facets of her talent, to reveal her splendour on screen, while she was still an unknown actress. Finally, even if this movie didn’t know success, it was undoubtedly one of the best things Eva could meet at the beginning of her career. That’s why Bertolucci was one of the two “special” people she has thanked when she won her BAFTA.
April 19th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
she is the most beautiful actress on the planet
April 20th, 2008 at 1:12 am
Paolo: I have to agree with Tango_down on that one…
Tango_down: Eva is good in all other movies, but I have to agree that it’s probably her best, she shone in the other films, but she sparkled in this one…she was still so young and she seemed both untouched and untouchable on screen (does that make sense?). And her performance was astounding for a first-timer in the movies at that time…
April 20th, 2008 at 4:06 am
Tango_down and Monique:
Obviously I don’t remember only her nudity on that movie.I’m italian as the director Bernardo Bertolucci, and I’ve appreciated almost all of his movies.
As a male I’m conquered also by Eva’s beauty, it is normal or not?!? :-))
April 20th, 2008 at 5:53 am
I read somewhere that there will be a section devoted to May 68 in the Cannes Film Festival. “Dreamers” should be a “must” for this section. Any news about Franklyn and its possible premiere in Cannes Festival?
April 20th, 2008 at 6:29 am
True, she is beautiful and does have an absolutely stunning body, but even if it’s just from the neck-up – she’s so captivating and intense, unlike so many of her ‘Hollywood’ contemporaries.
Some people will simply never be blessed with that kind of talent and composure; Bosworth or any of the Jessicas for example? 😉
April 20th, 2008 at 7:00 am
Tango_down: i totally agree with you… this movie is uncomparable…
the thing about her “speech” at the baftas could also have come from me;)…
unfortunately, i could not watch it on Arte since i was in poland last week, but i have it on DVD.. and i have wtached it lots of times and will watch it again and again.. it is just so beautiful!!
April 20th, 2008 at 8:36 am
Tango_down & Monique: I definately (sp?)agree, The Dreamers is her best film yet. I have to say though, I have very high hopes for Cracks as well. I know it’s a very different story, but I’m hoping it has the same sort of….intensity and ambiance….if that makes sense, as The Dreamers has.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:44 am
Paolo: I have to agree with Tango_down and Monique too.
This film is the best I have ever seen and Eva plays simply fantastically and I think it is one of her best achievements. She is the best actress I have ever seen!
April 20th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
Paolo : I’m also a male and I can see Eva’s beauty everytime in her face 😉
Then, she’s not the first woman whom I see naked.
April 21st, 2008 at 9:47 am
For Tango:
I love her face and eyes too!I think she’s sexier when she’s dressed.I wanted only to say that she has a beautiful body.
I said something strange?!?
April 21st, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Tango_down: Eva has a beautiful smile in a beautiful face over a beautiful body. I also focus on the first two but I cannot blame someone that focus on the last…
April 22nd, 2008 at 7:16 am
Paolo : No but what I mean is you have to be careful when you talk about her nakedness in this movie.
Things have to be put in their context, she did that because it was a movie on Mai 68, with sex emancipation and all things which came through this period. And then she dared, with courage, while it was her first movie, and she made it great. But she didn’t make it free, just to show her body, and that’s it. In this movie, to show her naked body had a sense, as the character she played, as the movie itself. So I think we don’t have to take this body as her own and personal one.
Let’s have a look to all things which are done on web with her naked pics on this movie, when they are putting away from their context. Eva is treated like a b****, and what about people who still don’t know her and discover her through these pics ? I’m talking about something I’ve already faced on a french forum (allocine).
Eva doesn’t deserve to be treated like that, as the courage she found to play all naked scenes of Isabelle in this movie.
So if you talk only about her naked body, you’re playing dangerous game, because some people who read you will have a look at the movie just for one thing, it’s unnecessary to tell you what, and where it leads…
We are male, but sometimes we need to go farther than our condition, and to see farther than what show us our eyes.
Because Eva need that, and most of all, she deserves it.
I hope you’ll understand what I mean, it’s not something personal towards you, and not a revenge for the footbal final world cup we lost LOL (I’m french)
April 22nd, 2008 at 11:33 am
George: absolutely agreed!!
April 22nd, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Tango_donw: that was a great speech! you are expressing exactly what i going on.. or what was going on when the dreamers was released… i have already come across some videos on youtube which should be deleted, they are so respectless!! we, as eva’s fans and the people talking about her here, should, as you said, make clear that it isn’t “her” body… it is isabelle’s… and that is exactly what eva explains in some interviews… you ahve to see her as an actress and not as the real eva gaelle green when you watch her on screen.. isn’t that what she wants to do? to become someone absolutely different when acting?? the nakedness is just another costume…
every picture or video which only deals with her body makes me quite angry because this is not what we should only look at… and yes, putting it out of its context makes people understand it wrongly!! that is dangerous!!
we want her to be seen as a quite good actress who looks beautiful…
April 22nd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Tango I think you are building a case about nothing.
I don’t want to reply further, I’ve only shown my appreciation for her beauty(not only her body), without being vulgar, if you read all my posts you will notice.
Say hello to Zidane :-))
P.S. I definetely prefer Eva all dressed as Vesper Lynd!
April 22nd, 2008 at 2:58 pm
Tango_down: I strongly agree with your concern regarding nudity (“…just another costume” as -you know who- expressed it!) and how misleading is to isolate the nude scenes from the whole context. Dressed or undressed Eva has a great body, but her strongest point is her face and her personality in general. There are a lot of great bodies in showbiz but not such BEAUTIFUL faces and meaningful attitudes…
PS: You will have a chance for revenge this summer in Euro 2008
April 22nd, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Tango_down: gorgeously said!
April 23rd, 2008 at 6:53 am
George : Greece will have to defend its title 😉 I heard that the coach of the national team has been celebrated as a God after you became champion
Our national team isn’t the same as before, all people here still want Zidane to come back, even if he would be 60 year’s old LOL
April 23rd, 2008 at 11:04 am
I totally agree with you Tango_down!
Eva is not only a naked woman in this movie! It is important for the Personality of Isabell. And I think that is really courageously, because she was a long time in this movie naked.
GOOD work eva!…:)
April 23rd, 2008 at 12:08 pm
wisely said, Tango_down.. and so true! 🙂
April 23rd, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Tango_down: It seems that we desperately need news from Franklyn and Cracks because the awkward symptoms are already here: we start talking about football in EGW!!! Forgive us ladies…
April 24th, 2008 at 5:39 am
George: Germany’s gonna get the cup anyway 😉
April 24th, 2008 at 8:39 am
Eva is #72 in UK FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women list 2008 😀 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=561715&in_page_id=1773
April 24th, 2008 at 11:56 am
george: it is forgiven… 😉
but i sort of recognize similar symptoms with me… i absolutely cannot wait for both of them.. franklyn and cracks… but since cracks will not appear until spring 2009 oO… i am always thinking about franklyn.. and i am pretty afraid they won’t show it in germany which means i really have to come to london or something.. surely that would be great– but just imagine here i would pay about 10€ but the other way it will be some hundreds… flight, hotel…. anyway… perhaps someone knows better and can tell me that they will release it in germany, too??!!
April 24th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Franklyn is not in Cannes program neither in competition or out of competition or in any special screenings (see http://www.hollywoodtoday.net/?p=4485 for more details regarding the festival). Natalie Portman and Alexandra Maria Lara (both among my favorites -but not like Eva of course) are in the jury.
April 25th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Liz: But hopefully we’ll soon have more pictures of Franklyn, and even though Cracks won’t appear until 2009, hopefull there’ll be pictures of the filming of that, too.
April 26th, 2008 at 12:26 am
George and Liz: I can see the symptoms of the desperately-in-need-of-news-about-Eva-itis on me as well…fortunately, thanks to Mariana and the contributors, it’s still pretty mild…
Oh, and Liz, I know your fear, I’m experiencing it as well, although your chances might be higher, since you guys are in the same continent…
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Monique: That is one piece of my hope!!
In the end, i can fly to London or drive to Paris to watch Eva-movies!
What is your continent when you say so???
May 4th, 2008 at 5:06 am
I’m in Asia, in the Phils…I’m not too optimistic on seeing it…it’s an indie film so I can’t be too sure
