    Hi !
I have this issue of Tatler. I also have scans from it but I have no idea how to send it to Mariana :(((
I tried to do that but scans have very big size ( or how it can be called), so everytime i try to do this the process of sending stops :(((

  • George
    Posted on November 21, 2008

Olga Iv: Try with lower resolution in the scanner. The resulted file will be smaller. Then send it to evagreenweb@gmail.com. Thank you anyway for your dedicated efforts !!!

Olga, upload you’re saved pics (on computer) to imageshack, you may have to change the upload resolution – that’s what I’ve had to do with my scans.
Then e-mail Mariana the full-size image links, and the thumbnails for each -I hope this helps! ;)

Off topic: I am just writing my wish list for christmas=) and I would like to know if you find all those DVD Featurettes of Kingdom of Heaven on the Director’s Cut Century3 Cinedition(4DVDs) version?? And is the interview with Eva, of which we can find captures in the gallery, also included??

  • George
    Posted on November 27, 2008

Liz: Yes there is an interview with Eva and evenmore there is the first meeting of Eva with Marton Csokas: She arrives in the first meeting with Marton, Orlando and Ridley) right from the airport she is introduced by Ridley and then she is given a piece of paper. I thought it was the script of the film, but it was actually a menu to order for lunch… She looks really awesome!!! The collection is strongly recommended not only for the backstage but also because the Director’s Cut is much different (better) than the theatrical release.

  • Liz

    George: Thank you very much!!!
This is waht I wanted to hear;)
I have already seen the director’s cut but now with christmas almost at our doors, I thought it would be a nice investment to buy this special edition=)
Well, Eva and Maton’s very first meeting.. this sounds interesting to me;)
    Oh, I like this!!!
I am just arriving at teh pint where I want to tell you how much I like this site and everything… but that would lead to far…
    Anyway, I love this place!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Mariana and everyone else!! You are great!

Liz : Be careful with the 4 DVD set’s version of KoH you’ll buy, in the one I bought there was some sequences missing, for example, there’s indeed the cast rehearsal’s with Eva, Marton and Orlando working together on their script but not the sequence with her meeting with the two actors when she’s just arrived from airport, the scene Georges told you about.
Thanks to God (What about calling him Dionysos or Apollon ? ;) I could be able to watch the sequence.
So, here is the version I bought :

    http://www.amazon.fr/Kingdom-Heaven-Ultimate-4-DVD/dp/B000I2IWU0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1227901997&sr=8-1

PS : do people who have all the bonus sequences have the same cover on the DVD set than mine ?

The other attractive thing in the bonus is the fact that you can see the producer’s face… yea the one who decided to cut Eva at the movie’s release. If I had an advice, take a screenshot, print it on a large paper, and you’ll get a great target to play darts.

Liz: To see the moments that Tango_down is talking about go to YOUTUBE and search for “fornico” and it will appear the specific two minutes video (I wonder what “fornico” is meaning…).
Look at her grimace in 00:59 (my favourite!!!) and how Orlando is staring at her and how she is looking at Marton while he is rehearsing (love from the first sight?). Although I hate smoking, I cannot resist on the way she is holding her cigarette.

PS I hate smoking, not smokers…
PS Tango_down: Dionysos was a naughty boy. Posidon was cool …

Tango_down: Great idea with the darts’ target! It made me laugh out loud. This guy should feel sorry and ashamed for what he’s done!;)

I think the version that I have found is the longer one. Just have a look on the duration of yours (145mins) mine takes 185mins. I hope it is the right one. BUut thnak you for your kind advice, Tango_down!

Liz : Your version looks so great, especially the cover, it seems like a collector DVD set. Great idea for an own gift lol
The producer is not a guy but a woman, I let you meet her when you’ll get your christmas’ 2 in 1 gift (a great movie’s collector edition and a dartboard at the same time).

Spot : It’s all about the producer because we have to persecute someone as responsible for this disgrace, you know, to find a scapegoat ! lol
There’s also a sequence when she talks about suppressing stage directions in the scripts just to eliminate a few pages and save some money. To see someone talking like that didn’t give me a good impression…
But you know that guy who’s making that speech has certainly a lot of stereotypes and prejudices on producers :)

George : I’ve also wondered but I thought that you were fond of italian songs, because it sounds like funiculì, funiculà :D
I’ve only smoked chocolate cigarettes when I was young.

Tango_down: So you are not overdosed with NICOtin :) Or are you?

  • Monique
    Posted on November 30, 2008

George: as to the Youtube video, I think “fornico” might mean “for Nico”, you know for someone named Nico (I merely thought of this because the name resembles my nickname, only mine is Nica, these are rather common nicknames here)? not sure though… you know the name of the person who uploaded the video makes me think he/she might be Filipino: “fanieva”? It’s almost like “fan ni eva” which in English means, “eva’s fan”…
anyway, I’m very grateful to this person whoever he/she might be as I have been looking for those clips for a while now, and since 20th century fox took out some KoH director’s cut scenes in Youtube (but now some of them are back) I couldn’t find it…don’t get me wrong, I totally want to support Eva and buy the DVD, but I cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT find it here in the Philippines…I can’t even order it online (for certain reasons)…I envy you guys…

  • Tango_down
    Posted on November 30, 2008

Monique : You’re right he’s really Filipino if we consider that Greece is to Europe what Philippines is to Asia lol

George : To make pun with people’s name is forbidden ! :p

But, anyway, we were talking about Kingdom of Heaven DVD set, no ?

  • George
    Posted on November 30, 2008

Monique: fanieva seems rather russian female name but you may be right. Regarding “fornico” yes, you maybe right. It perfectly fits to Nico Sarkozy (lol)

  • Liz
    Posted on November 30, 2008

    George:LOL!!!!
I remmeber perfectly Eva’s upsession in some interviews when asked about teh Sarkozy-thing=)
I made a presentation of him and his character last week in French and therefore looked for information about him in the internet as well as some french magazins… he seems really drawn to women=)
AND I realized that he grew up in the same arrondissement as Eva did: Paris 17e.
He might have taken this “connection” as the reason for is idea of inviting her;)
—Just speculations and making fun of “le president bling-bling”. But I don’t dislike him I must say… I seems quite activ and ambitious.

  • Liz
    Posted on November 30, 2008

Monique: I am greatful as well for people uploading those interviews and other kind of videos. But they should only give us an idea of the extra-parts of the DVD-set because this is supposed to be sold legally.
The studios have to gain money in some way… maybe even more the actors, but the money raised with DVDs rather goes to the studio, unfortunately. In fact, Eva deserves at leat a part of it since her hard work was cut out….
In regarding the fact that I want to join this business one day as well, I feel responsible to treat this video stuff seriously…

  • Tango_down
    Posted on November 30, 2008

So if we sum up, we have a Filipino who made a video about KoH cast’s rehearsal for Sarkozy… it doesn’t make any sense !!

  • spot
    Posted on November 30, 2008

Tango_down: i didn’t get your flow there

Liz: some actors do get a percentage of the video profits, but they’re mostly the big name ones ;)

  • George

So, according to what 007 has gathered so far we have a Philipino maybe female with russian roots that was asked by Sarkozy to upload the video. Elemantary, Watson…

  • Liz
    Posted on December 01, 2008

Tango_down: Oh sure. I didn’t wnat to blame him at all. I appreciate that he uploaded the video to give us a taste of what the extras are like.
To continue my last post, these little inputs on youtube are all right but I think uploading entire movies (what they actually did last week with CR and some dreamers scenes) is absolutely not acceptable and even against copyrights.
It seems as you got pleased/amused by the Sarkozy-idea=)=)

Tango_down: whoa, you sure have an imagination…LOL!!!

Liz: I completely understand what you mean…I would watch the whole thing if I could, sweetie, but, most unfortunately, I cannot at the moment…don’t you worry, I’m still thinking of ways of getting that elusive DVD copy, like I said, I totally support Eva and her movies…I wouldn’t want all her effort to be wasted…but for now, I’m making do with this…

  • Liz
    Posted on December 02, 2008

Monique: …and I completely understand your point of view.
I would act the same way, I supppose.
Perhaps, I can order the exclusive DVD copy and send it to you. The only thing is: I don’t know if the DVD plays on your DVD player, but you can watch it on the laptop.
So, if I order it on amazon I will order two copies… about detailed shipping, we can talk then..;)
What do you think about that idea??

  • Liz
    Posted on December 02, 2008

Tango_down: The voodoo doll is amusing.
Did you see the “caricature: Le Fou d’Europe” dans L’EXPRESS in its october issue??
    I think it was well-done.
I bought the magazine on my trip to Paris 4 weeks ago.(My French teacher knew of my trip and asked me to bring along some magazines.)So I used it as a creative ending for my presentation of Sarkozy.
    spot: you’re welcome!
    EGW family always helps;)

  • Tango_down
    Posted on December 02, 2008

Liz : No I haven’t seen it yet, do you have a link ?

The funniest things about his doll are the mentions, I don’t know if you understand all of them. 170 % is the percentage of his pay rise he decided at the very beginning of his presidency. There’s his favorite quotation “To work more to earn more” and his famous words he said to someone at the agricultural show which means “Go away, poor idiot !” which is very classy for a president. There are lot more funny mentions on the other parts of his body.

Liz and Monique: just a little reminder (as i’m also concerned for both of you), if you guys will exchange personal informations (about the dvd shipping, etc.), don’t do it here as this is a public domain. everybody can see the comments here. i think it’s better if you ask Mariana about each other’s emails or better yet, a little suggestion, set a date and time for a little family chat among EGW family members ;)

  • Liz
    Posted on December 03, 2008

Tango_down: I am sorry, I can’t find the caricature on the net. But I can ask my teacher to bring the issue along once again and I will scan it and send you a link to take a look on it…
It will take some days, I’m afraid.

I can see taht people talk a lot about Sarkozy’s politics and about his behaviour. Some seem to be quite critical but there are many funny things=)…
I heard that when interviewed, Nicolas turned a bit crazy and called the journalist names because he asked stupid questions and was not capable of doing a good job according to Nico.
He seems to be quite different from former French presidents, i.e. Chirac.. a very traditonal and “classy”, discret one… but Sarkozy for his part, is much more open, indiscret and lives out his life fully…
Maybe, he will be able to change some things.. I don’t know how much you and the other French people around here like him but his ideas stand for a… well, I’d say… less “boiteuse état” like my French teacher calls it.

spot: that’s very sweet of you, my dear. Sure, we will not exchange personal information here on the public platform;)
You suppose to start a little private conversation on the forum?

  • Tango_down
    Posted on December 03, 2008

Liz : No need to disturb you, I was just curious but don’t to go to the bother of scaning it for me.

Yea, all the funny things around Sarkozy are entertaining. Concerning the journalist, it’s true that she asked him an embarrassing question (about Cecilia), but he was not angry because of her but against his governement’s spokesman who should have suppressed that question before the interview. Later, the spokesman was fired.

If you ask for my preference, I would just answer that I prefer from far a classy president. Even if I don’t share his politic tendency, I miss Chirac… lol We miss him so much that we were so happy and touched to see him again at the agricultural show. Even his muppet remains by far the french people’s favorite : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrSUzMs9k2w

I think we don’t have such a show in Germnay with all the German politicians… unfortunately;)

  • Monique

Liz: If you do that, I will be completely indebted to you for the rest of my life…but since it might be too bothersome for you to order two copies and have it shipped over here from Europe to the Philippines, that’s okay, I will find another solution…

Hey, anybody here seen Franklyn yet?

  • Monique

Oh hey, just an aside, I finished a sketch of Eva a few days ago…I copied it from this:

  • Liz
    Posted on December 06, 2008

Monique: I think I should do some research on shipping fees… there’s no real problem about ordering two copies of the movie…
The only thing is… What when the over-sea transport fails?? I don’t really trust in it because three years ago.. it took about 10 weeks from Canada to Germany…
anyway.. I will get informed and tell you what is possible…… maybe I can order it and tell them to send one copy to another address… that would be the best idea…
Give me some days and keep checking.. I will tell you…

  • Liz

Monique.. yeah… what’s about some Franklyn screenings… I rad that it had a special screening at the BFI Southbank in november….

  • George

Monique: Franklyn will be released on January in UK. Prepare your trip…

  • Tango_down
    Posted on December 06, 2008

Liz : I think you can trust international’s shipment if the website where you shop looks serious, if it’s an active and rather famous site, if all process are secured, if sale’s conditions are clear, if you have some good customer’s reviews, etc. Amazon.com is a good example.
If you’re looking for trustworthy carrier, there are FedEx and UPS, they’re quick, efficient, but… very expensive ! On the other hand, my last order with the two of them, I was surprised to have to pay a great amount of taxes (customs especially) as well as the shipment’s cost I had already paid. So I’ll be more hesitating to ask them for another service again.
So if you’re not in a hurry, airmail remains the most economic shipment, it just takes some time to deliver.

  • Monique
    Posted on December 06, 2008

Okay, you guys just lost me…I don’t send overseas letters or packages so I have no idea what you’re on about…but, Liz, do you really wanna go through all that trouble just to send me a DVD? :)

  • Liz
    Posted on December 07, 2008

Monique: =)… well, if it isn’t that much trouble.. then why not…
But I’ll just check if it is possible to have one DVD sent to another address…
UNfortunately, I have not yet found the time to check amazon’s conditions since this is where I’ll order them…
    Thank you, Tango_down…!!
And Monique: It also depends on how much it costs and what you are ready to pay for it…
I know that the DVD set itself costs about 28 euros… (1 EUR is about 15 312 IDR)

  • Monique
    Posted on December 08, 2008

Liz: Okay, never mind then…I am a typical college student here…translation: I am totally, completely, utterly broke…I don’t know how much it seems to you, but 28 euros converted to Philippine peso is so beyond my reach (I still three skeletons, a dissecting set and a new software left to buy) *Monique hyperventilates ;) *
So have fun watching your copy and be at ease, for I will seek out my godparents living in the States and ask them to find a copy for me (it is available in the US, isn’t it?)

  • Liz
    Posted on December 08, 2008

Monique: I have the impression that in Philippine peso, it’s just too much… I had no idea of the worth of your money ( I am sorry for lacking knowledge!!)
I am sorry for you, but I hope your godparents from the States can make it possible for you to watch the copy…
I am pretty sure it is available in the US… amazon.com offers it as far as I know.
