There’s a lot of bloody water on the new 300: Rise Of An Empire poster…
Blood and water are very much the defining elements of this one, with Sullivan Stapleton’s general Themistokles looking pensive as a bloody sea rages behind him.
Based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes and told in the same visual style as Zack Snyder’s original film, this new chapter of the saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield – on the sea – as Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.
That won’t be easy, as the effort pits him against against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
Noam Murro is in charge of the carnage for this one, which will arrive across the pond on March 7, 2014 and probably not long after that over here (UK).
