We’re happy to announce Lisa Langseth’s Euphoria starring Eva Green and Alicia Vikander will have its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Euphoria will screen under the Platform section and will compete for the Platform Prize, to be awarded by this year’s jury which will include award-winning filmmakers Malgorzata Szumowska, Chen Kaige and Wim Wenders.

The Platform section is TIFF’s director-driven program that aims to showcase original names in international cinema. This year’s Platform section lineup will have 12 films from eight countries on five continents. All competing films in the Platform section are eligible for the Toronto Platform Prize ($25,000 CAD) made possible by Air France. The 12 competing films are the following:

Michael Pearce’s BEAST
XavierLegrand’s CUSTODY
Clio Barnard’s DARK RIVER
Lisa Langseth’s EUPHORIA
Joan Chemla’s IF YOU SAW HIS HEART
Barbara Albert’s MADEMOISELLE PARADIS
Nabil Ayouch’s RAZZIA
Kamila Andini’s THE SEEN AND UNSEEN
Iram Haq’s WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY
Warwick Thornton’s SWEET COUNTRY (Platform Closing Film)

The Platform Prize winner will be announced at the TIFF Awards ceremony on September 17, 2017. Festival runs September 7-17 in Toronto, Canada.
