Lovely visitors: thanks to you, Stef and I found out that Eva is featured in the new issue of Interview. While some scans can already be found online (thanks again to you!), we didn’t post them here because Stef bought a copy of the magazine herself, but didn’t have the time to make our own scans yet. But it’s coming in the new few days. Thanks for pointing it out to us! :)

Thanks to George for the link.

Eight years ago, actress Eva Green made waves with her debut in Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Dreamers followed by a key role in Ridley Scott’s Kingdom of Heaven before being cast as a Bond Girl in Martin Campbell’s James Bond reboot Casino Royale.

She now stars in Cracks, the directorial debut of Jordan Scott, Ridley’s daughter and his second progeny in the past year to direct her first movie. Based on the novel by Sheila Kohler, Green plays Miss G, the glamorous teacher at a girls’ boarding school in 1937 who has assembled the girls into a diving team. When a new girl arrives from Spain (played by Maria Valverde), it puts the other girls on edge, especially when Miss G starts giving her extra attention. It’s another terrific role for the sexy French actress who has been spending much of her time in England in recent years and the all-female cast of the period thriller also includes two prolific ingénues in Juno Temple and Imogen Poots.

ComingSoon.net sat down with Ms. Green to talk about the movie and we also talked briefly about her upcoming role in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, which starts shooting in May.

Thanks to George for the link. :)

Recently some of the stars of Tim Burton’s next feature, a film version of the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows, have been out and about talking about the director’s take on the show. MTV caught up with Helena Bonham Carter who revealed her reluctance and excitement about playing Dr. Julia Hoffman, the “alcoholic psychiatrist.” While promoting Rango, Johnny Depp, who’s set to lead as the vampire Barnabus Collins, told Collider, “Maybe Barnabus, in this version, is maybe a little bit more, maybe waxes a little more poetic now and again, you know? But it’s definitely in keeping with the original series.”

Well, another member from the cast had a bit of a different take on the film’s connection to the source material. While promoting her upcoming film Cracks, Eva Green, who’s onboard to play the witch Angelique, explained that the film is so different, referring back to the show wouldn’t help her develop her character. Instead, she’s going for a cross between Bette Davis and Janis Joplin. Check it out for yourself in the clip below.

Thanks to Isabell for the link to the new interview. :)

We’ve been wondering how Tim Burton was planning to compress over 1,200 “Dark Shadows” episodes into one feature film. The answer, it seems, is to keep some things the same while also taking great creative liberties.

To wit, while Johnny Depp told us his take on Barnabas — the vampire at the center of the ’60s-era supernatural soap — won’t stray far from the character pioneered by Jonathan Frid on the TV series, co-star Eva Green’s Angelique will be a far different creation than the one Lara Parker portrayed back in the day.
