(…) “The next two (movies) I do are both in the UK. I have a film starting in a month here, with Eva Green, which is a really original piece that goes between present day London and a futuristic European city that’s non-descript.”

EDIT: Apparently, young English actor Sam Riley landed the role of Milo. So, Phillippe will play Preest.

On another note, I’d like to let you know that Mawi decided to close Eva Network after only two weeks. She has a new project coming soon, and even though she still loves Eva, she thought that she couldn’t handle 3 sites, especially because her updates at Eva were mostly about older stuff and it’s enough reason to demotivate most webmasters. I wish her good luck with her upcoming site. In the meantime, we can all visit her Kate Walsh fansite.

Our beautiful Eva is gracing the cover and the pages of this week’s issue of Elle France! The photo used on the cover isn’t new, but the ones inside are!!! She looks gorgeous and sophisticated!!! There’s also a brand new interview that you can read here (it’s in French).

Eva Green, the sweet enchanteress!

Two new additions were made to the trivia page:

– It’s Ridley Scott and his wife, a very good friend of John Galliano, who talked to him about Eva when she was filming Kingdom Of Heaven. When Eva finally met Galliano, she was expecting to see a “bullfighter” but she discovered a “very humble, reserved, sensitive, very English man.”

– The filming of the Midnight Poison TV Spot directed by Wong Kar Wai took place at the Opéra Garnier in Paris for 4 nights (after midnight). “I play some kind of toxic plant, a blue rose, who can be both good and evil, like poison. It’s a very ethereal film, out of this world, with slow movements.”

EDIT: We now have scans thanks to Kazou! Merci! 😀

Our beautiful Eva ranked at #68 at Indie Critics’ 100 Most Beautiful Faces In The World. I definitely think she should have ranked higher, but as the site itself says, beauty is very subjective.

100 Most Beautiful Faces in the World

▪ This list is only about beautiful faces.
▪ It is not based on the “sexiest”, “hottest” or “best body”.
▪ You may discover some relatively unfamiliar faces.
▪ It is certainly not a popularity contest.
▪ This is not your standard Maxim or FHM list.
▪ There will be a few big name exclusions.
▪ This is the most international list you will see.
▪ The list will be updated every couple of months.
▪ Of course, this is very subjective — you will disagree.

Thanks to Eva’s management for informing me that “Franklyn” is due to start filming in the middle of September. Unfortunately, the producers decided that the cast should be a little younger: the three leads in their twenties rather than their thirties. The new cast is yet to be announced. Eva’s still in it, but the rest of the cast will be about her age. Even though this is sad news for everyone who wanted to see her co-star with Paul Bettany and Ewan McGregor (me included), we have no reasons to worry as the new cast should be very good too.

Today, I was contacted by the association Grandes Ecoles City Circle that organises regularly events destined to the French community of London.

They wanted to inform me of the voting, via Internet, for the “Frenchie of the Year”. This election will allow the net surfers to vote for the five most remarkable Frenchies of 2007 in five different categories who live and work in London and who represent a community of 10,000 people!

Eva is nominated in the category “Artist and Writer” (“Artiste et Ecrivain”) for her contribution to this area. The other nominees in the same category are: Marc Levy (writer), Sylvie Guillem (dancer), Yasmina Reza (writer, artist), Renaud (singer) and Noémie Lenoir (model and actress).

An awards ceremony is scheduled for this September (2007).

To vote for Eva, use the following website:

(You don’t need to vote in the other categories in order to submit your vote)

In the epic trilogy, comprised of the books The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass, Pullman unlocks the door to a parallel world where strange creatures live side by side with humans, and humans share souls with animals. The books center on precocious young protagonists whose adventures lead them into battle against the ultimate evil with the fate of the universe in their hands. Pullman is the first children’s author to ever win the UK’s prestigious Whitbread Book of the Year prize.

Thanks to Aurore, we know that Eva is nominated for the NRJ Ciné Awards 2007 as Best Newcomer for Casino Royale. She’s up against other Frenchies, including the talented Mélanie Laurent who won the Best Female Newcomer award at this year’s Césars (the French version of the Oscars). The competition is tough but you can help Ms Green by voting for her.

I’ve added 5 new “Golden Compass” posters to the gallery and two of them features Eva Green as Serafina Pekkala. There are also individual posters for her co-stars: Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Dakota Blue Richards.
